World Cup 2022: First all-female referee team to make history

Ironic given some of these off-field conversations surrounding Qatar’s 2022 World Cup, Stephanie Frappart and Neuza Back, Karen Diaz has been awarded the role of referee in Thursday’s Group-E match between Germany and Costa Rica.

FIFA has announced on twitter that they have become the first men’s World Cup matches with an all-female referee team.
